Royal Melbourne Show 18th. August 2010
Once again the Royal Agricultural society of Victoria (RASV) demonstrated to Victoria that it is the ''Show to top all shows" held annually in Melbourne. Lush Desserts had a wonderful location inside the Main Pavilion, thanks to Sally Scalliotti of Wood Nook event management, using Sallies expertise, all the combined events with Lush Desserts and Woodnook run like clock work with lots of laughs along the way. As we expected, the crowds were enormous and the Lush Desserts staff were rushed off their feet, handing our many thousands of tasting samples.
Interestingly, many people commented on how natural and tasty our desserts are, I found this very encouraging as the idea of restaurant quality desserts available on the super market shelf is our aim.
The Great Tasting stage inside the Grand Pavilion provided a ideal opportunity to show case Lush Desserts Cremes in a way that people can enjoy and create their own master pieces at home. Rodger Goold was our M.C. and stage manager from Woodnook event management, we thank him very much for his talent, professionalism and making my job on stage enjoyable. I was asked to show case my chef skills on stage, not only to promote Lush Desserts but to share some great cooking recipes and ideas that I have learnt over my 30 year career , and again I was delighted with the attention of the audience to information that they can easily apply at home, with this in mind I also added some great kitchen safety tips.
Of course, this show would not be so amazing if it wasn't for the great family entertainment on offer, we particularly liked the equestrian events, high lighting the amazing relationship between horse and rider.
A wonderful moment was being invited to meet the guys from the ShowTime FMX who delighted the crowds with their stunning dirt bike stunt routines, these guys performed every day of the show, no mean feat considering the concentration required. Matty McFerran, Steve Mini and Brad Burch were very accommodating when it came to hamming it up for the camera and their fans.
When I suggested that some great shots could be taken while standing under their bikes as the flew over head, they were only to happy to oblige, these photos and lots more of the people who visited and enjoyed the show can be viewed in the gallery section of the Lush Dessert web site. Steve Thompson (our official photographer) was taking photos of people, animals and the unusual, so please it you see any photos of yourself, friends or something you love, you can contact us at www.lushdesserts.com.au and we can send them to you.
Looking forward to meeting you again at the next Royal Melbourne Show.
