The good food and wine show that is held annually in Melbourne show cases the best Melbourne and Victoria has to offer in the food, coffee and wine industry, it never ceases to amaze me the huge crowds that show up to this event, this event is a great marketing platform for our desserts. The good food and wine show enables many businesses to really show case their product to a crowd of around 40,000.At the Lush desserts stand we did 8,000 tastings. I lost count of the amount of impressed customers sampling our products as I had a real effort on my hands to keeping up with the hands that where out stretched for a taste of our dessert crèmes.
Of course, the real unsung heroes of the good food and wine show is the team that sets up the show ,from the forklift and loading bay people who organize and make sense of the chaos of the show set up to the helpful people of diversified that run the show and put much effort into marketing this event.
I arrived at around 10am, booked my forklift for the arrival of 2 pallets from our retail distributor, FMayer and proceeded to set up the lush desserts stand.
It really was quite an exciting time seeing a large show put together without any fuss or injury, all stand holders getting the attention that they needed to set up.
The first day of the show there was an expectant buzz in the air, as the people that where there on the first day wanted to avoid the rush of the week end and could spend some quality time with the manufacturers without the hustle and bustle of the huge weekend crowd.
It really was great to catch up with all my distributors, suppliers and regular retail customers, too numerous to mention, but you all know who you are, so, thanks and it was great to catch up.
Friday also allowed me to have the chance to wander around, taking photos and introducing myself to new contacts .Many thanks goes to Linda who does a lot of our regular markets and instore demos (keep an eye on our twitter page, via our home page for regular market dates and store tastings), Linda as always, ready to entertain the crowds.
I also had the chance to check out the awesome celebrity stage, the stage was sponsored by Ilve who show cased their beautiful domestic kitchen range of ovens and stoves on their stunning stand, you can check out these photos and more in our photo gallery on the lush desserts website. Our talented photographer Steve Thomson was with us on the weekend and was in his element snapping left right and centre, many people wanted their photo taken, so if Steve took your photo you are welcome to contact us through the website and we will forward on to you your photo.
Saturday and Sunday was totally packed and was a great opportunity to introduce my desserts to new customers, so to all those that took the time to try our desserts, thank you, I hope you enjoyed them.
